About the Book

A boy who grew
through shears

Palaboy follows a young poet who keeps the people he loves at arm’s length for the sake of his art. As the years pass, circumstance denies him the very love he’s chasing — and after an excruciating loss, he begins to contemplate ending his life.

It is his old friend Veia who talks him back — who convinces him, against everything, that life is still worth living.

Prefaceassembled 2045events 2039–2041

The poem was assembled in 2045, gathering and translating events that unfolded between 2039 and 2041 — the Id set down first, the Ego arriving two decades later to explain it.

— from Part I —

I doubt fullness too much to here it:
I live in non-meety locations
While pain tarts me to poems—
My mother hugged me scars. I am Palaboy,
A boy who has grown through shears.

Jessica

The sequel to Palaboy is being written now — the story moves forward, out of the woods and toward the life that was argued back into being.

— from Part I of Jessica —

After decades, I, an abject loner,
Hunted, and found, an electric girlfriend,
My own Hermia— brown-eyed, but taller.
She is an island in a sea of men.

Our attraction expanding into love.
Her name is decidedly Jessica.
